I would like to summarize Priya's forthcoming c achievement in this new email.
Dr. Wadhera has had three papers accepted to conferences taking place this coming academic year. In December, she will present “To Eat or Not to Eat: the Effects of Hunger in the Works of Georges Perec,” at “The Effects of the Oulipo: Impact, Continuities, Appropriations, Reactions,” at the Australian Society for French Studies Annual Conference (ASFS) hosted by the University of New England and Western Sydney University in Sydney, Australia.
Then, in January, she will give two papers at the Modern Language Association Annual Convention in Seattle. The first is called “Accounting for Ferguson: Why We Talk About Food,” a paper for a roundtable in honor of Priscilla Parkhurst Ferguson (1940-2018), a mentor of hers from Columbia who was a pioneer in food studies from a literary perspective. The second is “Books Behaving Badly: The raison d’ĂȘtre for Perec’s La Disparition,” a paper accepted to a panel called “Bad Books.”
Further, Dr. Wadhera was just nominated to stand for election to the Executive Committee of the Languages, Literatures, and Cultures “20th– and 21st-Century French Forum” of the Modern Language Association.
Priya, Congratulations.
Warmly,
Raysa
