Dr. Nicole Rudolph/ French Program

I would like to share the good news about Nicole's scholarship. She has had a paper accepted for the Courtauld Institute of Art's symposium on "Fantasy in Reality: Architecture, Representation, Reproduction," which will take place June 14-16, 2017 in London, England. Her paper is called, "Fantastic Models and Their Discontents: How Spectacular Architecture Shaped Domestic Space Expectations in Postwar France."  A description of the conference can be found here: http://courtauld.ac.uk/event/fantasy-reality-architecture-representation-reproduction

According to the e-mail acceptance of her conference talk, it was a very competitive process. Wikipedia notes, "The Courtauld Institute of Art is the major centre for the study of the history and conservation of art and architecture in the United Kingdom. [...] The Courtauld was ranked first [...] for research quality in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework. The Courtauld was ranked, again, first in the United Kingdom for History and History of Art in The Guardian’s 2017 University Guide." We are thrilled that Nicole will be able to represent Adelphi at this symposium.

Nicole, Congratulations you make us proud!
